How Little Birdy works
Little Birdy is a local-business directory built on one idea: you should be able to see who a community actually trusts, and who really owns the business, before you hire. No pay-to-play. No sold placements.
What Little Birdy is
Most directories sell the top spot to whoever pays the most. Little Birdy does the opposite. We build a profile for every local business from public information, rank them on what neighbors actually say, and show you who owns them. A business can claim its profile to keep the facts right, but it can never buy its way up the list. That is the whole point: a guide you can actually rely on.
For neighbors
1. Find trusted pros
Search your city for movers, plumbers, roofers, and dozens of other trades, ranked by what real customers say.
2. See who really owns them
Every profile shows an ownership badge. Red means private-equity-owned, orange means franchise, green means locally owned. Know who you are supporting.
3. Get competing quotes
Describe your job once and send it to a business plus a few top-rated pros nearby. Compare real bids and pick the best fit. It is always free.
For business owners
Claim your profile free
Find your business, claim it, and correct any detail. There is never a charge to be listed or to claim.
Respond to real leads
When a neighbor sends a job your way, we email it to you right away. The pros who respond first win most of the work.
Keep your customers
Fast, honest service is what moves you up the list. We reward the businesses that take care of people.
Why ownership transparency matters
A lot of trusted local names are quietly bought by private-equity firms or rolled into national franchises. The sign stays the same, but service and pricing often change while the local reputation gets spent down. We think you deserve to know that before you call. So we mark it plainly on every profile: private-equity-owned in red, franchise in orange, locally owned in green. You decide who gets your business.
A few promises we keep
Ownership transparency
We label who really owns each business. A red badge marks private-equity-owned companies and an orange badge marks franchises, so you know exactly who you are hiring, not just the name on the truck.
We watch who serves people well
We pay attention to which businesses take care of their customers and which let service slip, and we keep every listing current.
Earned, never bought
Community Choice comes from real reviews and word of mouth. No business can pay for placement, and we run no ads.
Free for every business
Every local business has a place here. Claiming yours is free and lets you respond to the leads neighbors send.
Independent by design
A business controls its own details. It never controls its reviews or its rank.
Built for how people search now
Clean, current listings so Google and AI assistants describe each local business correctly.
